Surface Treatments with Electrolytic and Vacuum Coating Techniques

Purpose of Education

“Surface treatments”; It is the general name of the processes used to change and improve the functional, wear, decorative and corrosion properties of the surfaces of the materials used in almost all industrial sectors. The subject is extremely comprehensive and is of interest to many different disciplines. Within the scope of the training, the basic principles of surface treatments applied to metallic materials will be summarized to the participants. It is aimed that the participants will have information about the production, selection, definition and use for different purposes of such coatings, with special emphasis on electrolytic metal coatings, hot dip-galvanization and vacuum coating techniques, which are the most widely used among surface treatments.

Education  target

At the end of this training, all participants;

  • They will have knowledge about the classification of surface treatments for engineering applications.

  • They will understand the importance of pretreatment in surface treatment applications .

  • They will have knowledge about the principles, applications, selection and definition of electrolytic metal coatings.

  • They will have information about the principles, applications, selection and definition of hot-dip zinc coating method.

  • They will have knowledge about the principles, applications, selection and definition of vacuum coating techniques.

  • They will learn the principles of surface treatment selection for different purposes by discussing examples.

  • They will have information about the identification methods for the properties and performance of coatings.
