Purpose of Education

The aim of this training is to provide employees with knowledge about the concept of innovation and the building blocks of innovation culture management. Thinking people and a good management system are necessary for an innovation culture.

 

In this training, the role of human in innovation and the formation of innovation culture will be discussed and the needs in the management systems necessary for the formation of innovation culture will be evaluated. The relationship between the concept of innovation, which is new to the agenda of businesses today, and the concepts of science, engineering, research, development and technology will be examined.

Education  target

​With this training, participants will learn the following topics;

​

  • They will question themselves and their environment about the place of thinking, seeing and dreaming in innovation,

  • Question and understand the differences between the concepts of innovation, innovation management and innovation culture management,

  • They will examine the building blocks in innovation culture management and determine the place of Science and R&D in innovation by leading the Innovation Readiness Level in innovation management.

  • They will develop a different perspective on the concepts of problem, design and product,

  • With the studies to be carried out during the training, the awareness of the innovation culture in the institutions will be ensured to question the innovation perceptions by examining the information, products and technologies produced by the institutions.

  • They will be able to examine the conceptual and managerial contradictions that may arise with the existing R&D management in institutions and the innovation management that has become popular in recent years and develop solutions.

Who Should Attend

Innovation is in every aspect of life. Making a difference quickly by speaking the same language with each employee in the institutions
and improve its competitiveness. In order for the invention to gain commercial value, it is necessary for the employee in every field to demonstrate their intelligence by thinking innovatively.

 

In recent years, a special importance has been given to the concept of innovation, which actually exists with humanity. This is a training program that can be attended by employees of all levels who want to bring innovation to the fore in education life.

prof. Dr. Ozgul Keles

prof. Dr. Özgül Keleş completed her undergraduate education at ITU Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department in 1993. He also completed his master's degree at the same university and worked at Mita Kalıp ve Döküm Sanayii A.Ş. He completed his doctorate in 2000 at the USA New Mexico Institute and Technology University. He worked at Argon National Laboratories (Argonne National Lab) and New Mexico Institute and Technology University in the USA between 2000-2002. He worked as an R&D specialist and R&D manager in Assan Aluminum R&D group between 2002-2007. In 2007, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor to the Department of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering at ITU. He received the title of associate professor in 2010 and served as the vice president of the department between 2010-2013. Between May and October 2016, he worked as a visiting researcher at the Argon National laboratory to conduct research on Lithium-ion batteries. He has been appointed as a professor as of June 2017.


He continues his research and development studies on Quality - Problem Solving - R & D - Innovation - Managements as well as on Aluminum-Alloys and Production Methods, Coatings and Lithium-Ion Battery technologies. He teaches Materials Science and Engineering, Design and Materials Selection, Quality Engineering, Problem Solving Techniques and Innovation, Design and Project Management, Energy Materials and Design of Experiments. He has been the executive and advisor of two national and 2 international books, 1 patent, over 90 national and international articles and papers, and projects supported by many different organizations. Dr. Özgül Keleş is still working as a faculty member in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at ITU.
